Customer case: flexible reservations on scheduled flights saved Telko’s trip to Ivalo
Telko is a Finnish wholesaler of plastics used in chemicals, with around EUR 105 million in net sales and 50 employees.
Telko needed to fly all of its employees to the town of Ivalo for a customer event and asked Private Skies for a quotation for a chartered flight. However, during the initial contact we informed Telko that a chartered flight would not be a cost-effective solution. We tendered for scheduled flights that would optimally meet the customer’s needs and preferences.
We provisionally booked 30 seats on a plane on behalf of Telko, leaving the customer time to arrange invitations and clarify who would travel, without worrying about the seats selling out. We kept the customer continuously up to date on when it would have to decide on the number of passengers in order to avoid additional costs.
The customer confirmed the final number of customers later, but just two weeks before the trip noticed that more seats than expected would be needed – Private Skies got to work and, on the same day, confirmed that the extra seats had been secured!
Just two days before the journey, after the expiry of the deadline for the group booking, the customer informed Telko that one further seat would be needed. Private Skies used its own credit card to book a seat and all of the passengers were able to board the plane! Before the journey, Private Skies provided the customer with an information package, including all of the details needed by the passengers during their trip.
